Agronomic practices and bio-stimulants for persian lime (Citrus latifolia Tan.) production in Mexico

Objective: To evaluate biostimulants and cultural practices for floral induction in Persian lime (Citrus x latifolia Tanaka ex Q. Jiménez) to obtain production during the winter season, when highest price market is offered with. Design/methodology/approach: From July September period, were applied six-year-old trees with different treatments as follows: 1. Pruning only, 2. + urea, 3. urea ringing, 4. biofol® ringing. Additionally, September, two more included: 5. calcium prohexadione, 6. Citomax®. The design used was randomized blocks four repetitions. experimental unit one tree. Flowering, yield, physical-chemical quality cost-benefit ratio evaluated. Results: outstanding effect of pruning nitrogen confirmed foliar application granulated (6.0 kg ha-1) period from obtaining an average yield 23 t ha-1 harvest December March, a B/C 2.5 ratio. fruit kept within NMX-FF-077-1996 Mexican standard. Citomax® (cytokinins) showed 30 ha-1, 3.1 Findings/conclusions: nitrogen, cytokinins induce flowering produce best yields.
